Japan Film Days in Istanbul for four days |

The 4th of the Japan Film Days are due to take place at Istanbul Museum of Modern Art between Feb. 22 and 25. The program was jointly organized by the Japan Foundation, Embassy of Japan in Istanbul and Istanbul Museum of Modern Art.

The 4th of the Japan Film Days are due to take place at Istanbul Museum of Modern Art between Feb. 22 and 25. The program was jointly organized by the Japan Foundation, Embassy of Japan in Istanbul and Istanbul Museum of Modern Art.
Six movies are due to be shown at the organization including the Ghost of Yotsuya, accepted as the masterpiece by the renowned Japanese director Nobuo Nakagawa, and the Black Cat Mansion. In the Ghost of Yotsuya, Nakagawa tells the story of the Japanese samurai Lemon, who got married to the daughter of a man whom he killed. This classic Japanese horror movie is based on an 18th-century work written by Nanboku Tsuruya.
And the Black Cat Mansion features the incidents starting when a couple moves into an old house after they move from their city for treatment. A descendant relative of the servant of a cruel samurai returns to her home town and a cat who is possessed by the spirits of those murdered by the samurai tries to kill her.
Another important movie is Kazuo Kuroki’s “the Face of Jizo”. The movie is the final installation in the director’s trilogy on wartime Japan, including “Tomorrow” and “Kirishima 1945”.
“Swing Girls” by Shinobu Yaguchi, “Face” by Junji Sakamato and “the place promised in our early days” by Makoto Shinkai will also be shown. Tickets are available for 4 YTL |
