Visit the city’s emblem: the striking twin-minarets of the Çifte Minareli Medrese. End the day exploring the Rustem Pasha Bedesten, an ancient trading hub famous for exquisite Oltu stone (black amber) jewelry. Savor authentic Cağ Kebab for dinner.

A breathtaking 6.5-hour drive awaits, following the stunning Kura River through some of Turkey’s most pristine landscapes toward Kars. Stop at the formidable Ardahan Castle, a Seljuq-era fortress renovated by Suleiman the Magnificent. The highlight of the day is a delicious stop at the village of Boğatepe, the heart of Turkish dairy country. Here, we indulge in a specialized cheese tasting, sampling world-renowned local varieties like Gravyer and Kasar. Conclude with a traditional home-cooked dinner before arriving in Kars.

The afternoon is dedicated to exploring the magnificent İshak Paşa Sarayı (Ishak Pasha Palace). This semi-ruined masterpiece of Ottoman architecture offers a stunning view overlooking the plains with Mount Ararat as its backdrop. Spend the evening in Doğubayazıt, engaging with local life.

Travel to Van (approx. 2 hours), a city whose history spans 5,000 years, influenced by Urartian, Armenian, and Ottoman kingdoms. Here stands the 10th-century Holy Cross Cathedral, a jewel of Armenian architecture famous for its exterior stonework carved with elaborate biblical scenes.
