This intensive trekking and summit expedition takes you through lush alpine meadows, glacier-fed lakes, dramatic valleys, and remote highland pastures (yaylas). Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Erzurum | Arrival Day

Arrival in Erzurum, one of Eastern Anatolia’s most historic cities. Meet your guide and enjoy free time or a short orientation walk. Erzurum is famous for its Seljuk architecture and hearty local cuisine.

Day 2: Erzurum – Barhal – Mount Kaçkar Region – Yaylalar

Drive to the scenic village of Barhal, surrounded by lush mountains and home to the historic Barhal Church. Begin trekking toward the Kaçkar Mountains, ascending gradually through forests and alpine terrain to reach the Yaylalar highland pastures, used by shepherds during summer.

Trekking: ~5–6 hours

Day 3: Üzümlü – Modut Valley

Trek through Üzümlü, a charming village set among vineyards and green slopes, then continue into the stunning Modut Valley, known for its crystal-clear streams, peaceful atmosphere, and dramatic mountain scenery.

Day 4: Yaylalar – Dilberdüzü Plateau

Day 5: Mount Kaçkar Summit Day (3,937 m)

An early alpine start for the Mount Kaçkar summit ascent. Trek across rocky and glacier-influenced terrain to reach the highest point of the Kaçkar Mountains. From the summit, enjoy breathtaking views stretching toward the Black Sea and the Çoruh Valley. Descend carefully back to camp.

Day 6: Dilberdüzü – Yusufeli

Descend through high mountain terrain toward Yusufeli, a dramatic gateway town set deep in the Çoruh Valley. Enjoy a well-earned rest and experience local hospitality.

Overnight: Hotel / Guesthouse in Yusufeli

Day 7: Yusufeli – Barhal – Erzurum | End of Tour

After breakfast, drive back to Erzurum, passing through spectacular mountain roads and valleys. Transfer to Erzurum Airport. End of services.
